hong kong fashion faux-pas du jour

the other day, i spotted a fashion faux-pas while riding on the subway.

i saw a lady wearing a pair of blue denim jeans with lace trimming on both hems of the pant legs. the lace was ivory white, and 1 inch in thickness. to my horror, i looked up from the lace-trimmed jeans only to find the woman sporting a denim jacket with matching lace-trimmed collar and sleeve cuffs.

the jeans was also about an inch or 2 too short above her ankles, which made her outfit look even more awkward.

the things that make you go "huh?!"...

"an hour of yoga a day, keeps the doctors away"

i love my yoga classes!
in the last 2 months since i first began taking yoga classes, i've taken a variety of yoga classes, including Shivananda, Ashtanga, Chikitsa, Hatha, Iyengar, and Satyananda. some were more relaxing, some were more intensive and strenuous. but they're all a good workout for my body and a great way of maintaining my health. i noticed that i've been sleeping better too (just as the doctor suggested). hopefully my muscles will become more toned, while i'm at it. ;)

i'm lovin' my yoga classes so much that i just upgraded my yoga membership so that i can take an unlimited number of classes each month (1 class per day), so i am determined to make the most of it and take as many yoga classes as possible.

my plan: to take a yoga class every single day! (or at least 5 times a week)

i'm pretty sure i can accomplish this starting this week. i've practically planned out my entire yoga schedule for the week already. i even work it around my social calendar so that i can squeeze in a class between my errands or various lunches and dinners with friends or other obligations. the yoga studio offers nearly 20 classes each day, all day long, so it's easy and convenient to find a class to fit into my daily schedule. and unless something unexpected comes up or my muscles become painfully sore from being over-stretched, i should be on track to adhering to my new personal motto of "an hour of yoga a day, keeps the doctors away"!

the darkest day

two years ago today, i lost my my beloved grandma. she had lived with us all of my life, and helped raise my sisters and i. we had a very close relationship with her, which made losing her extremely difficult. it was especially painful for me because i had flown back to see her 3 hours too late... which left me inconsolable for weeks.

it's true though what they say, that time can help to heal some of the pain from losing someone you love. but it doesn't keep you from missing them deeply.

miss you lots, po po...
rest well...
