Crash and burn... so scary!

Just flew back Sunday from five days in Phuket, Thailand. Before I even begin to write about the trip, I have to say how shocked I am right now to have just heard about a plane crash in Phuket that very afternoon!!!

Basically, a plane crashed at Phuket Airport Sunday shortly after landing around 3:30pm after skidding off the runway during a landing attempt, and 88 out of 130 people aboard died. Was it because of the bad weather or did it have anything to do with the local budget airline? (Ever heard of One-Two-GO Airline? I sure haven't!) I'm sure the terrible weather condition played a big part.

Either way... that's SCARY and sad!!

Our flight left Phuket Airport at 12:20pm. If we had taken a later flight home we would've arrived to a chaotic airport and canceled flight. It's even scarier thinking how close we were to it... especially if it was caused by the bad weather, it could've happened to any plane... *gulp*

The weather was really bad when we left Phuket. It was blowing strong gusty winds and raining very hard at times... it's monsoon season in Southeast Asia this time of year and they have tropical storms nearly every day. But dude, it makes me even more nervous to fly now! And definitely will be wary of flying budget airlines!
